NMU's National Academic Award is automatically awarded, regardless of need, to first-time, full-time freshmen, who have a recomputed grade point average of 3.0 or higher and a composite ACT score of 19 or higher (900 on the SAT). Transfer students with a minimum 3.0 transfer GPA in at least 12 transferable college semester credits also qualify for the award. It's renewable each year with maintenance of a minimum NMU GPA. NMU offers a variety of other merit-based and need-based scholarships.
