| Application Process | |
| Contact your transfer admissions counselor for advice and assistance for a smooth transfer to NMU. | |
| Apply online or download a printed application. | |
| Pay the $30 application fee (can be done online when you first apply, or by mailing a check or over the phone with a credit/debit card at 906-227-2650). | |
| Arrange to have official transcripts mailed to NMU (when first applying and then when finished at your current or previous college). Official transcripts need to mailed or submitted in a sealed envelope from your previous institution. | |
| Schedule a campus visit (optional, but highly recommended) at www.nmu.edu/visit or by calling 906-227-1709. | |
| Housing | |
| Set aside $125 for housing deposit. | |
Learn about the housing policy requirement and who is eligible for which locations.

| If you're hoping to live off campus and meet the requirements, complete this waiver. Direct any questions regarding the housing requirements to Housing and Residence Life. | |
| Tuition and costs, scholarships | |
| Set aside $75 for orientation deposit (orientation is mandatory for all new students). | |
| Parking permit: $140/year for one car on campus (optional, but if you have a vehicle in Marquette, you'll want an NMU parking permit). | |
| Recreational facilities pass: $70/semester or $130/year (optional). | |
| Start saving up for books! Amount depends on course load and class requirements. You can charge textbooks to your NMU account through the NMU Bookstore. They'll also reserve your books. | |
| Fill out the FAFSA for financial aid by March 1 if possible (if starting in the fall). Visit www.fafsa.ed.gov for details.* | |
| Go to www.nmu.edu/scholarships to learn more.* | |
| * If the number of credits you will transfer exceeds the number of credits required to earn your NMU degree, please contact the Financial Aid Office to discuss any potential impact on your scholarship and/or financial aid eligibility. | |
