What is most exciting about the NMU Global Campus is that it is continually growing in dynamic and innovative ways that enable our students to create the educational experience that fits their time, place and style.   

If you are a resident of the Upper Peninsula, watch for NMU LTE to come to your area. This high-speed, wireless educational broadband network, which is being built across the entire U.P., will make learning online convenient and affordable, and offers special opportunities for our lifelong learners.

Want to jump start your college degree experience while still in high school? We’ve got you covered with the Northern Promise, which is a dynamic partnership with several participating high schools that gives you the chance to take college courses through concurrent enrollment, middle college or dual enrollment and count the credits toward both your high school diploma and college degree.

Another part of the Division of Extended Learning and Community Engagement is International Programs which oversees international admissions, international student services, and study abroadInternational Programs also has an English Language Institute, which has programs to help you improve your English-speaking and understanding abilities.  

We also operate a statewide, award-winning student-run entrepreneurial product development program called Invent@NMU. They are the idea incubator® at Northern Michigan University. Powered by students, led by professionals.

Through Continuing Education and Workforce Development, we develop business training for local, state and national agencies while our College of Technology and Occupational Sciences trains regional workforce (and beyond) through applied associate degrees and certificate programs for real-world trade careers.

Want to take that degree even further?  The College of Technology and Occupational Sciences also offers bachelor’s degrees designed to progress management careers in the hospitality and construction industries.
