We're Open!
The Writing Center is now open for the fall 2026 semester.
We are a student-led, conversation-based tutorial service–free for all NMU students and staff. Our primary method of tutoring is via in-person walk-in sessions, but we do offer a virtual appointment option as well. Wherever you are in the writing process, our tutors are here to help!

Hours
Monday–Thursday, 10am–8pm
Friday, 10am–4pm
Sunday, 12pm-4pm
The Writing Center will be closed on any major holidays, school closings due to inclement weather, and scheduled breaks (i.e. spring recess).

Online Tutoring
In addition to in-person tutoring, we also offer online tutoring sessions via Google Meets. Online sessions are generally 30 minutes, an hour at most. If you require more than a one-hour tutoring session, feel free to drop-in multiple times.
