For Instructors—Faculty Consultations

Including writing in the study of any subject or discipline is a proven way to help students understand concepts and develop critical thinking skills.

Are you interested in:

• Including writing, or more writing, in your undergraduate and graduate courses?

• Exploring how to best discuss the writing conventions of your discipline and individual assignments with your students?

•Finding ways to ensure the writing your students do is valuable to their learning of course material?

•Learning how to best and most efficiently assess course writing?

The NMU Writing Center is here to assist you in developing writing-intensive assignments and accompanying materials based on established best practice in writing instruction. Consultation services are available to all faculty, at any point in the semester.

If you would like to schedule a consultation, please feel free to contact me directly at hstevens@nmu.edu.
