Ojibwa Casino: Information Session

The Ojibwa Casino will be hosting an information session on campus to provide information about themselves and about open entry-level positions they are hiring for. They are looking for guest service-oriented people who love to work with the public. Positions include Wait Staff, Bartenders, Cooks, Guest Service Clerks, Cashiers, Security Officers, Slot Attendants, and Housekeepers. They offer flexible hours and will train for all positions. They would be more than happy to work around school schedules. If you are interested, consider dropping in from 10-2 on Monday, October 1. 

U.S. Army: Information Table

The U.S. Army will be on campus to offer information about their part-time service opportunities, as well as their tuition assistance program and other benefits. They have over 120 jobs to choose from! Military specialties include: Administrative Support, Medical Technicians, Mechanical Specialists, Computers & Technology, Legal & Law Enforcement, Transportation & Aviation, Engineering & Construction, Arts & Media, Army Bands, Combat Engineer and Airborne/Air Assault.

Lower Kuskokwim School District: Information Session

Monday, October 15, 2018 * 6:00 - 8:00 PM * 3301 C.B. Hedgcock

The Lower Kuskokwim School District is an exciting and rewarding place to learn and teach in "bush' Alaska. The LKSD is the largest rural school district in Alaska with 27 schools, 350 teachers and about 4,100 Yup'ik students. The landmass of the district is about the size of West Virginia spreading along the Kuskokwim River and Bering coast of southwest Alaska. Travel is by jet from Anchorage and then by small plane, snowmobile or boat from Bethel to the village sites.

The LKSD supports instructional staff with a robust professional development program differentiated from whole group to individually selected courses. There is a teacher mentor program that includes orientation to the local culture and learning about our curriculum. Additional mentoring for new to LKSD teachers is provided through the individualized BetterLessons model.

City of Madison Police Department:  Written Testing Session

Tuesday, October 16, 2018 * 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM * 2303 C.B. Hedgcock

The Madison Wisconsin Police Department is seeking mature-minded men and women who possess integrity and self-confidence. Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as a desire to work with the community are essential. A career with the Madison Police Department is both challenging and rewarding. We are an innovative organization, proud of our diversity and that of the community we serve. Representatives from our department will be at NMU to offer the written exam and to distribute applications. The test will take approximately an hour and a half, and prior registration is not necessary. Any questions regarding this test should be directed to the MPD at (608) 266-4190.
