Mission Statement

The Writing Center’s mission is to aid NMU students in improving their writing skills. The Writing Center therefore employs accomplished undergraduate student-writers to provide free, one-on-one tutoring sessions and online tutoring for all forms of writing. The Writing Center can aid students in everything from brainstorming to revising no matter if the student is a beginning writer or experienced. Overall, the Writing Center works with the English Department to promote clear self-expression and to prepare students for their encounters with writing.
