College of Business
At Northern Michigan University’s College of Business, students master skills to use sophisticated computer equipment and programs, analyze complex problems, make sound and ethical decisions, effectively communicate and work as a team—traits that are in great demand in today’s business world.
You won’t just read about Wall Street, you’ll experience it in our on-campus financial trading lab. You won’t just dream of starting a business, you could win thousands of dollars to invest in it in our annual New Business Venture competition. (Did you know NMU is one of only three public universities in Michigan to offer a bachelor’s degree in entrepreneurship?). Plus, you’ll meet and learn from many industry experts and sharpen your skills working for community events or local businesses.
The demand for graduates in many of our degree programs is strong, especially for accounting, computer information systems and management. All offer outstanding opportunities in long-standing careers with bright futures. Our graduates have gone on to work for organizations such as IBM, FEMA, Coca-Cola, JP Morgan and Procter and Gamble, to name just a few.
