At Northern Michigan University’s College of Business, students master skills to use sophisticated computer equipment and programs, analyze complex problems, make sound and ethical decisions, effectively communicate and work as a team—traits that are in great demand in today’s business world.

You won’t just read about Wall Street, you’ll experience it in our on-campus financial trading lab. You won’t just dream of starting a business, you could win thousands of dollars to invest in it in our annual New Business Venture competition. (Did you know NMU is one of only three public universities in Michigan to offer a bachelor’s degree in entrepreneurship?). Plus, you’ll meet and learn from many industry experts and sharpen your skills working for community events or local businesses.

The demand for graduates in many of our degree programs is strong, especially for accounting, computer information systems and management. All offer outstanding opportunities in long-standing careers with bright futures. What you'll do at NMU

Join one of our active business-related student groups that may travel to Chicago and Milwaukee to meet with business alumni or bring notable speakers to campus. Maybe you’ll go abroad to work with and test your skills against foreign students in the International Information Technology Seminar. Or invest and manage real money in the college’s Superior Fund. Who knows, you might intern with an NFL team or a leading computer company. Or with our Momentum MBA you can get on the fast track to this prestigious degree.
