Randall Jensen (HPER) co-authored a paper titled “Identifying the optimal resistive load for complex training in male rugby players,” which was published in Sport Biomechanics. The paper was an outgrowth of Jensen’s contacts with the University of Limerick while on sabbatical there and a follow-up to research he had published previously with William Ebben, a former NMU grad student. Two of Jensen’s co-authors on the recent paper are from the University of Limerick and one represents the Irish Rugby Football Union.
Rachel Harris and Jon Barch (Center for Student Enrichment) each submitted information that has been published in the Best Practices For Student Affairs Professionals online report titled Best Practices For Leveraging Online Social Networking Communities. Harris and Barch answered the following question: What is your single most innovative best practice for dealing with and leveraging MySpace, Facebook, and other online social networking communities? Barch shared information on SkillBuilders! workshops that are offered as part of the Student Leader Fellowship Program and Harris explained how Northern uses a Superior Edge Facebook group for updates and promotion.
