Stephen Burn (English) authored an essay titled “Beyond the Billboard” in a recent issue of the Times Literary Supplement. The front page of the issue featured an excerpt from the essay, which reviewed American short story writer George Saunders.

 

Marek Haltof (English) published a chapter titled “Lost in the Brush: the Cultural Context of Peter Weir’s Picnic at Hanging Rock” in the Polish book Film and its Cultural Context. The chapter focuses on Peter Weir’s film and the Australian film revival.

 

James McCommons (English) has published several articles in magazines. His contributions to Better Homes and Gardens include “Start a Walking Club” (October 2006); “Rethink Your Insurance” (September 2006); “Stretching,” “Before They Go Abroad,” a piece about keeping students safe, and “Insuring Pet Health” (August, 2006); and “Take Charge of Your Debt” (June 2006). For Audubon Magazine, he wrote “Suburban Renewal” (July-August, 2006) and “So Lawn” (May-June 2006). His article titled “Hiking and Mountain Biking Nebraska’s Pine Ridge” was published in a Sunday edition of The Los Angeles Times (Sept. 17).
