Applicants must:

  • Meet federal low-income guidelines or come from a family where neither parent or guardian holds a four-year college degree
  • Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.
  • Be at least 13 years of age and not older than 19
  • Be currently enrolled in 9th or 10th grade
  • Have a strong interest in mathematics and science
  • Have a GPA of at least 2.50 (based on a 4.0 scale)
  • Demonstrate interest in post-secondary education
  • Exhibit responsible and cooperative behaviors
  • Have acceptable high school attendance records
  • Be motivated to follow and complete a rigorous academic program for 6 weeks in the summer
