- Dr. Alan McEvoy has a newly published book: When the Subject Is Rape, a nonacademic, practical guide for helping loved ones forge a path through the associated trauma. A link to a conversation about the text and his perspective can be found here.
- Dr. Alexander Stoner's research is featured in the Fall, 2023 Northern Magazine. The article discusses "The Social Causes of Climate Change" and features a discussion with Dr. Stoner on his research in environmental sociology. A link to the article can be found here.
- Dr. Meghan McCune will deliver the department's inaugural MULTIPLE DIMENSIONS OF INEQUALITY lecture October 19, 2023 (time/location TBA).
- Dr. Alan McEvoy has retired as Department Head after eleven years at NMU. Without the burden of administrative duties he will be enjoying the benefits of visiting with family, traveling, improving his fishing skills, and continuing as a skilled photographer. He and his leadership will be sorely missed, but we expect to see him from time to time, perhaps even teaching a class or two.
