TITLE IX STATEMENT
Our University is committed to fostering a safe, productive educational and work environment. Title IX and our policy prohibit discrimination on the basis of sex, which includes sexual misconduct: sexual assault, sexual harassment, stalking, dating and domestic violence, voyeurism, sex discrimination, and any other conduct of a sexual nature that is nonconsensual. Sexual misconduct can undermine students’ academic success and we encourage students who have experienced sexual misconduct to talk to someone about their experience, so they can get the resources and support they need.
As an NMU faculty member, I am required to inform the Title IX Coordinator at the Office of Equal Opportunity (https://www.nmu.edu/titleix/) of any report I receive of sex discrimination, including sexual misconduct: The entire University’s Sexual Misconduct Policy is located at https://www.nmu.edu/titleix/sexual-misconduct.
If you or someone you know is a victim of sexual misconduct, we encourage you to reach out to these resources:
Complaints against employees, applicants and third parties- Title IX Office (906-227-2420)
Complaints against students (student/student)- Dean of Students Office (906- 227-1700)
