Honors Status

Any undergraduate student graduating with honors will be notified by the Degree Evaluations Office. Honors for graduation are determined as a result of the candidate's overall grade point average for all completed semesters, not including the current semester. Degree honors will be recalculated after final grades for the semester have been submitted and recorded.

Honors graduates can purchase honors cords, to display at the commencement ceremony, from the NMU Bookstore for $7.98 (plus tax). Summa Cum Laude honors students will also receive a Summa Cum Laude medallion. Students participating in the commencement ceremony will be notified by email to pick up their medallion from the Registrar's Office during finals week.  (Students receiving summa cum laude honors that don't participate in the commencement ceremony will receive their medallions by mail after final grades have been posted and GPA calculated for the final semester).
