Environmental Innovation Program

Through the Wildcat Innovation Fund program, an effort is under way to create an institute on the Northern Michigan University campus that pulls all of the academic and non-academic environmental efforts together, making it easier for current and incoming students and their families, as well as NMU faculty, staff, alumni and retirees and the Upper Peninsula community to know what is taking place on campus that moves the university toward greater sustainability and NMU community members toward a higher level of a local and global environmental awareness.

Co-chairing this committee are Jill Leonard (jleonard@nmu.edu), biology professor, and Suzanne Williams (swilliams@nmu.edu), chemistry department head and professor.  A formal proposal for the program will undergo review during the winter and spring 2010 semesters.
