As part of the U.S.News & World Report 2012 Best Graduate Schools rankings, master's degree programs in nursing were assessed based on a peer survey of deans, other administrators, and/or faculty at accredited degree programs or schools in each discipline. This is U.S.News's first ranking of graduate nursing programs in four years.

Northern Michigan University’s Society of Automotive Engineers Baja team won first place at the 2013 Winter Baja race held Saturday in Houghton, Mich. The race was hosted by Michigan Technological University.  Read more.

Job Growth in Laboratory Science

The job outlook for laboratory science is quickly growing and NMU is the only university that offers 5 accredited / approved programs by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science. Read more.

   

 

Students Speak on Costa Rican Adventure

Costa Rica

NMU students who traveled to Costa Rica in January will present their experiences, and knowledge gained from their study abroad trip focused how ecotourism helps sustain Costa Rica's ecosystems.

The Presentation will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 10 in the Meade Auditorium with a fundraiser to follow.

An additional presentation and fundraiser will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 18 at the Falling Rock Cafe in Munising, Mich.

New Wildland Firefighting Minor
FirefightingThe new minor is available Fall 2013 through the Health, Physical Education and Recreation Department.It consists of 23 credits with both classroom and hands on training in the field. To learn more click here.
