This policy establishes Northern Michigan University’s Employee Recognition Program which has been designed to:

General: Northern Michigan University’s Human Resources Department will establish, maintain, and implement an individual and team employee recognition program to recognize employees that demonstrate exemplary performance and service in furthering the mission, vision, and core values of the University.

Excellence-in-Service Award & Distinguished Team Award Procedures
Media coverage: Human Resources will coordinate with the Marketing and Communications Department to arrange press releases to announce the award winners. Each release will include a photograph of the award recipients and a brief description about each individual’s accomplishments. Additional recognition may include announcements on campus bulletin boards and invitations to special/sporting events.
