Graduate Assistant Positions

The College of Business is currently accepting applications for graduate assistant positions. Up to 2 positions are available for students pursuing their MBA at Northern. Applications are due April 19, 2013. Apply now!
The NMU College of Business offers graduate assistant positions to highly qualified students pursing their MBA degree.
Graduate assistants work 20 hours a week and receive up to 16 credits of tuition per academic year, in addition to receiving a stipend. GAs at the College of Business have carried out a variety of administrative tasks working directly with the Dean and the Assistant Dean. Furthermore, GAs teach a business block of the UN 100 course, which is part of the First Year Experience for freshmen on campus. Graduate assistants also have the opportunity to work with faculty members in the College of Business to assist in research. To be considered for a graduate assistantship, a student must:
- Be enrolled in a degree program with regular admission for new graduate students.
- Current graduate students must have a 3.0 GPA in all graduate level coursework and must not be on probation for any reason.
- Have been a graduate assistant for less than two academic years
When looking for the most qualified candidate to be a graduate assistant, the College of Business will assess the following:
- Work experience
- GMAT score
- Undergraduate GPA
