Matt Bell’s (English) debut novel, In the House upon the Dirt between the Lake and the Woods has been published by Soho Press. The book was featured on the cover of Publishers Weekly and was chosen as an Indie Next pick. It also was selected for the Powell’s Indiespensable Book Club and The Nervous Breakdown Book Club. 

 

Professor emeriti Thomas Sullivan and Cornell DeJong (Sociology and Social Work), along with former faculty member Timothy Hilton and the late Duane Monette, are the listed authors of Applied Social Research: A Tool for the Human Services (9th edition).

 

Jason Markle’s (English) latest short story, The Feral Ones, appears in the summer issue of O-Dark-Thirty, a quarterly literary journal for the Veteran’s Writing Project based out of Washington, D.C. The story, written in the second person, is about two United Nations soldiers dealing with death and chaos.

 

Beverly Matherne (English) has new short fiction, “Amira,” in The Way North: Collected Upper Peninsula New Works, edited by Ron Riekki.
