Alumni & Author Addresses Colloquium

Author and NMU alumna Kathleen M. Heideman presented a multimedia discussion on her work as a writer entitled "Tracking Curiosity: from Lake Superior to Antarctica," which drew upon diverse themes of wilderness, environmental remediation, scientific inquiry, visual arts and emerging technologies on March 13.   Full Story.

Tawni Ferrarini

Tawni Ferrarini., professor of Economics, has ben named Sam M. Cohodas Scholar for economic development in the Upper Peninsula.  She will work with the campus community and regional organizations to research economic activity for others to use to develop plans for enhancing the U.P. economy. Dwight Brady Communications and Performance Studies professor Dwight Brady has been chosen as one of the two recipients of the 2008 Distinguished Faculty Award. Brady is known for his television documentaries including Michigan’s Gray Wolf: Ghost of the Big Timber and The U.P. 200: A Community Pulling Together and Michigan’s Green Energy Economy. Full story.
