Cary Vajda (Admission) presented "The Impact of a Proviso to the MACRAO Transfer Agreement" at the Michigan Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers fall conference in Grand Rapids.

Fred Joyal (Economic Development) was invited to participate in an alternative energy roundtable discussion with Gov. Jennifer Granholm last month in Escanaba. Each participant gave a mini-presentation.

Kia Jane Richmond (English) gave a concurrent session presentation titled "Teaching Teachers Transmedia Navigation: A Map for Successful Lessons" at the annual convention of the National Council of Teachers of English in New York City.

Ron Sundell (Geography) co-chaired a session on watershed stewardship and gave a presentation about the need to link and integrate environmental data being collected by the universities and colleges located within the Lake Superior watershed/ecoregion. Both took place at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency/Environment Canada conference titled “Making a Great Lake Superior” Sunell took several students to the conference. Two presented a poster session on the native plants project at NMU.
