Publications

Fiction reviews written by Stephen Burn (English) have appeared in the Times Literary Supplement and the American Book Review. Burn has also authored a short biographical entry on novelist William Gaddis, which appeared in a reference book titled Beat Culture: Icons, Lifestyles, and Impact. In addition, he has completed a survey of Jonathan Franzen’s first two novels. The survey was reprinted in volume 202 of Gale’s Contemporary Literary Criticism series.

 

Allison Hedge Coke (English) was recently featured in the Prometeo Memories Anthology. Several of her poems were translated into Spanish and read during the XV annual International Festival of Poetry in Medellin, Colombia, the largest poetry festival in the world.

 

Amber Kinonen (English) wrote an article titled “Journaling and Positive Reinforcement,” which has been published in the fall edition of The Language Arts Journal of Michigan. A condensed version of the article also appeared in Michigan Teacher.

 

James McCommons (English) has published a series of travel articles for Better Homes and Gardens magazine titled “The Great American Vacation.”  They appeared in the June, July, and August issues.  McCommons also has three articles in the magazine’s October issue. 

 

John Smolens' (English) latest novel, Firepoint, was published in paperback by Three Rivers Press.

 

Cate Terwilliger (English), a journalism and technical writing specialist, wrote a report for Platts Research and Consulting titled “Soft Skills for Hard Situations: Customer Service Training for the Field,” which was published over the summer.
