Achievements
Harvey
Wallace (HPER) was elected
president of the Michigan Association for Local Public Health at
the organization’s annual meeting. Wallace serves on several state
and national public health workgroups, task forces and committees.
He is a past-president of the National Association of Local Board
s of Health.
Beverly
Matherne (English) was
a special guest at the launch of a Web site celebrating the bicentennial
of Louisiana at the Williams Research Center in New Orleans .
She wrote a poem that appears in a section of the site titled, “Louisiana
Yesterday and Today.” Matherne was one of four contemporary writers
whose work was chosen to show the continuing presence of French
in Louisiana .
