Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Projects

Continuously striving to improve quality is an essential characteristic of a high-functioning institution of higher education and is an expectation for good standing with accreditors. Previously as an AQIP institution, Northern ran approximately three one- to two-year Improvement Projects at any given time. Building on that work now that Northern is on the HLC's Open Pathway for accreditation, Northern will have multiple Continuous Quality Improvement, or CQI, Projects underway as we focus on meeting accreditation standards for the benefit of students.

NMU continuously engages in quality improvement work. Faculty, staff, students, and other NMU community members can propose projects.

Information about NMU's current quality improvement work will be available on this page soon.

Current initiatives build on the nearly 30 Action Projects that were done while NMU participated in AQIP.
