Randall Jensen (HPER) was recently elected secretary general of the International Society of Biomechanics in Sports. In that capacity, he serves as "custodian of the seal of the society, official documents and records." He maintains the ISBS files, including the membership roster. Jensen also will record the minutes of executive council, board of directors' and annual meetings, distribute meeting notices and report on nominations and election results. The ISBS is composed
of members from all over the world with
a common desire to study and understand human movement, especially as it relates
to applied sports biomechanics. Its 2010 annual conference was held at NMU.
The inaugural Blueberry Classic golf outing held July 29 at the NMU Golf Course raised more than $15,000 for the NMU Student Flexible Aid Fund, which will help students confronting unforeseen financial challenges during the 2011-12 academic year. There were 90 golfers on 22 teams. The winning teams were as follows: Kristen Bjorne (Human Resources), K.C. Bjorne, Adam Carpenter and Neil Passinault, mixed division; Mark Hangen, Bill Toomey, Kevin Manninen and Alex Christiansen, men's division; and Sue LeGalley, Judy Watson Olson, Janet Mihelich, Sally Davis and Pam Benton, women's division.
