NMU is TOEFL Test Center

Northern is now the only official test center in the Upper Peninsula for the Test of English as a Foreign Language, or TOEFL. More than 6,000 colleges, universities and licensing agencies in 110 countries accept TOEFL test scores, including NMU.

The test measures the ability of non-native English speakers to use and understand English as it is spoken, written and heard in college and university settings. The test targets 11th-grade level or above students who want to verify and prove their command of the English language.

“It provides a great service to English as a Second Language students or members in the community that need TOEFL scores for professional services or to enter NMU,” said John Mallo (Continuing Education).

Testing is currently being offered once a month. Remaining test dates for this semester are Nov. 20 and Dec. 15.
