Publications
Beverly Matherne (English) recently released her latest publication, The Artist (l’Artiste), a portfolio edition of poetry by the late U.S. Poet Laureate Stanley Kunitz. She translated the work into French with Nicole J. M. Kennedy, a former NMU professor of French. The publication, featuring original lithographs by Bulgarian artist Stoyan Tchouki, was recently released at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, Mass., where Matherne read the French translations. The portfolio, produced in celebration of the poet’s 100th birthday, is printed in color on handmade rosapina cotton and sells for $1,500 per copy. Matherne’s poem, “The Blues Crying,” has been published in Bengali in Shabdaguchha: An International Poetry Journal.
