Something to be Thankful For
Thanksgiving Specials
To get us in the giving mood

A great way to start off the holiday seasons is to listen to the right thing. Giving Thanks hosted by John Birge will begin at 10am starting in November. Listen to the music and stories that revolves around the season. With guests such as poets and prize-winning artists, Giving Thanks is a truly American display of the essence of Thanksgiving.

Dale Warland Singers in Harvest Home
starts at 12pm. Warland directs his group with a swell that suits the autumn season. Including live performances along with old, Brain Newhouse hosts this special.

The American group The Western Wind has developed itself to the special beauty of a cappella music. For the holiday, they perform O Beautiful! American Music. This program features new music composed for voice by American composers Meredith Monk, Tania Leon, William Bolcom, and others. Tune in Thursday, 27 at 1pm for this holiday treat.

Wrapping up our Thanksgiving specials, listen live on Thanksgiving at 2pm to the National Heritage Concert. This two-hour special, hosted by Nick Spitzer, is a cumulation of Heritage Week (a festival for the country’s highest recognition of folk & traditional artists.) This special features blues, bluegrass, folk, and gospel. (Repeats Nov. 30 at 9pm)
