Mission Statement

The mission of Student Support Services at Northern Michigan University is to increase the retention and graduation rates of first generation-low income students and students with disabilities. The Student Support Services staff is dedicated to providing a broad base of quality services which focus on enhancing an interactive, student-centered learning environment within a continuous improvement framework. Student Support Services provides opportunities for comprehensive academic support and personal advisement, social-cultural awareness and acquisition of requisite skills to make appropriate career choices as Northern Michigan University graduates and life-long learners.
