Student Support Services
Student Support services is a comprehensive support program that assists first-generation, low-income students and students with disabilities with earning their baccalaureate degree.
The mission of Student Support Services at Northern is to increase the retention and graduation rates of first generation, low-income students, and students with disabilities. Our staff is dedicated to providing a broad base of quality services which focus on interactive, student-centered learning environment within a continuous improvement framework.
To be eligible to participate, students must be a United States citizen, enrolled in a baccalaureate degree program at NMU, have a need for support and meet at least one of the following: be from a low-income household as determined by federal guidelines, are a first generation student where neither parent has earned a bachelor’s degree or have a documented disability.
