NMU Pre-Nursing Students

Once you are admitted to Northern Michigan University and have indicated that you wish to pursue a degree in nursing, you are considered a pre-nursing student. The first three semesters are considered pre-nursing. Students entering the freshmen year are assigned an adviser from the School of Nursing and, together, they plan the academic program to complete the required courses. During the first three semesters, the student spends her/his time completing the prerequisite courses necessary for admission to the nursing major (see BSN Handbook). When the student is nearing completion of the prerequisites, and in consultation with her/his advisor, the student may apply for admission to the nursing sequence. An application for admission must be obtained from the School of Nursing office or online and submitted according to the required deadlines. The mailing address is School of Nursing, Northern Michigan University, 1401 Presque Isle Avenue, Marquette, MI 49855.
