University Symphonic Band

three musiciansThe University Symphonic Band performs traditional band repertoire as well as transcriptions from symphonic literature. The ensemble has toured the Upper Peninsula, performing concerts at area high schools. It meets during the winter semester, four days a week  (Monday through Thursday) from 3-3:50 p.m. The ensemble is open to all university students. Auditions are held to determine chair seating, and non-music majors may audition for service awards to participate in the ensemble. Service awards are awarded by recommendation from the director based on level of performance. The course number for Symphonic Band is MU113.
