Application Procedures

1. Request an Application for Admission from the College of Graduate Studies. Prospective students may complete their application online at www.nmu.edu/graduate_studies.
2. Return (or submit electronically) the Application for Admission to the College of Graduate Studies. All new degree-seeking applicants must send a $50 application fee. There is no application fee for non-degree-seeking applicants.
3. Request that the Registrar of each college previously attended, with the exception of Northern Michigan University, send official transcripts directly to the College of Graduate Studies. (Note: transcripts are not required for students applying for non-degree status or personal/professional development classes).
4. Send other supportive documents as required by the specific department to the College of Graduate Studies. Information required by specific departments is listed in appropriate department sections.
