UN 100 - Freshman Seminar

The UN 100 Freshman Seminar course is the "core" of the block.  It provides resource knowledge to aid informed decision making related to students' academic, personal, and career goals.  Course content is designed to help you successfully manage the transition to NMU by examining:

  • Academic engagement inside the classroom
  • Social involvement outside the classroom
  • Career planning for life after graduation

Class sections are small, focus on discussions, and include a variety of activities. The UN 100 (AD 100 for Art & Design majors) course is taught by a faculty member who will also serve as your mentor and a teaching assistant. UN 100/AD 100 Freshman Seminar is a two-credit elective course that will count towards graduation, grade point average, and financial aid.
