Are you interested in helping plan NMU's annual Relay for Life?
We will be holding an informational meeting on Monday September 23rd at 8pm in LRC 111i (directly across from Starbucks). This meeting will give you the opportunity to learn what the Relay for Life committee does, and possible join. Most planning for Relay for Life is done during the second semester, but the first semester is building our committee and reaching out to teams.
Relay will be held from March 21st at 12pm to March 22nd at 12pm
Each year NMU hosts a Relay for Life event in March. Relay for Life is American Cancer Society's signature event that is put on by colleges and communities throughout the nation. The main goals of Relay for Life are to raise funds for the fight against cancer and promote awareness for cancer.
NMU hosted its first Relay for Life event in 2005. Each year, the planning committee works hard to make the event bigger and better. NMU's Relay is one of the few collegiate relays that are 24-hours long. Our event features ceremonies to honor Survivors, Caregivers, and those that are no longer with us because of cancer.
There is plenty of entertainment for the 24-hour long event. You will find basketball and dodge ball tournaments, food, music, and a lot more. Each team that signs up also has a table at the event to fundraise. Some teams sell baked goods or crafts, others offer different types of games or entertainment.
If you are interested in joining committee, or would like more information, and can not make it to the meeting, please contact Chris Danik (email@example.com) or Rosemary Magidsohn (firstname.lastname@example.org)
