Award winning author Jack Driscoll will read from his new book of short stories The World a Few Minutes Ago.

Driscoll is the author of four books of poems, two collections of short stories, and four novels, including Lucky Man, Lucky Woman, which won the 1998 Pushcart Editor's Book Award. He is the recipient of numerous additional awards, including the Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writers Award, the AWP Short Fiction Award, the PEN/Nelson Algren Fiction Award, and seven PEN Syndicated Project Short Fiction Awards. He teaches fiction workshops in the low-residency MFA program at Pacific University in Oregon.

Sponsored by MFA and MA creative writing programs in NMU's English Department, Passages North literary magazine, and Sigma Tau Delta. Light refreshments will be served.
