Student Presentations Featuring Geometer's Sketchpad
The Geometer's Sketchpad is a dynamic and interactive piece of software used to model mathematics. These student led presentations will illustrate three innovative student projects in Dr. Buhl's MA 310 Mathematical Modeling and Problem Solving course.
Shannon McNabb and Travis Depuydt will model the use of Sketchpad to illustrate diffraction.
Breanna Young and Kaitlyn Hoffman will model the development of musical instruments and the programming involved to play a popular piece of music.
Eric Alexander will model the building of a chess set and the programming involved to simulate the world championship chess match from 1972 between Boris Spassky and Robert James Fisher.
