This studio is a culmination of knowledge skills and process acquired through previous courses. Individuals will define a self-generated research project that address contemporary cultural issues. Preparation of a professional portfolio of work and resume will also be required.

Students will learn to apply research, problem solving, and the user’s experience to interactivity. This course’s focus is on app/software interfaces and other media, wayfinding and the conceptual development of interaction and design.

Production of a body of work that supports the student’s personal concern for form supported by ideological and theoretical sources. Individual solutions for construction and finishing are stressed with a focus on current trends and issues in ceramics.

Continuation of the study of the ceramic process to develop a body of work representing a personal approach supported by ideological and theoretical sources. Students will develop documents, objects and images as part of a professional portfolio to support BFA/BA thesis research

Production of a group of artwork focusing on multi-media assemblage, found objects and combined technologies.

Development of skills and concepts in the production of sculpture using the techniques of foundry style investment bronze and aluminum casting. Concentration is focused upon learning various methods of casting, mold preparation, venting, gating and investing for gravity pour procedures. Students will also learn and practice the operation of the foundry in the production of their assignments.

This course is a continuation of and expansion upon the skills and techniques covered in previous woodworking courses, while further developing personal creativity and design sensibilities. Emphasis is placed on the methods of designing and building functional objects with non-traditional construction materials including metal, cement, fabric, foam, paper and plastic.

Continued development of a professional portfolio. Emphasis is placed on the application of ideology and theory while maintaining a close attention to design, process, and concept of chair construction.

Development of concepts and methods for computer art with a focus on portfolio development. Topics may include advanced animation, experimental animation, scripting, game development, motion capture, digital sculpting, and advanced rendering with emphasis on creative exploration.
