Mohey Mowafy (HPER) was invited to spend a weekend at Mercersburg Academy in Pennsylvania to lecture students and faculty about the Middle East saga, the genesis of radicalism in Islam and the violence perpetrated by Islamist extremists. His main presentation was at the academy's chapel, where he presented "Why would an innocent child grow up to blow himself up? The genesis of terror in the name of God." Mowafy drew from his personal experience as an American Muslim born in Egypt and his expertise as an author and a public speaker on the Middle East and the current hostilities in the region. |
