Achievements

Allison Hedge Coke (English) is the invitational guest editor of the spring 2006 edition of To Topos international poetry journal of the University of Oregon. The theme for the issue is "Indigenous Americas:  Poetry by Indigenous Peoples of the Western Hemisphere."

Senior Amy Cook of Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., has been named a health education major of the year by the American Association for Health Education (AAHE). She will be recognized along with more than 50 other health education majors from across the country at the AAHE Outstanding Health Education Undergraduate Majors Award Ceremony in Salt Lake City, Utah, on April 27. The AAHE serves health educators and other professionals who promote the health of all people. Its Outstanding Health Education Undergraduate Majors Award annually recognizes nominated students from universities that have health education/promotion degree programs. Cook will receive a certificate and have her name published in the newsletters of AAHE and the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.
