Beverly Matherne (English) participated in the "Bilingual Readings" at the American Literary Translator's Association conference in Cambridge, Mass. She read original French poetry by Charles Baudelaire and Arthur Rimbaud and her translations of them into English. A member of the French literature panel, she gave a paper titled, Translating from Cajun French to English: What is Lost. Matherne also performed one of her blues poems in English at the "Evening of Performance Poetry," in which participants interpreted poetry they memorized rather than read from the page.
