Academic Integrity

Plagiarism is growing problem on campuses everywhere. Please read the Writing Center’s page on plagiarism, and speak to your classes about the seriousness of stealing another’s work or ideas.

There are many additional resources available online to help you explain plagiarism to your students. Here are two of them:

The lesson plan for a one-hour workshop on avoiding plagiarism, complete with links to all resources and materials needed, is available from Janice Cooper, a New Jersey high school teacher. View the workshop outline.

Another thorough treatment of the subject for instructors is available at “Combating plagiarism in the classroom,” from the Landmark Project.
