Biographical Profile

Dr. Keneika Rowe has 14 years of teaching and working experience in the hospitality and tourism
industry. She has worked in various departments in the Hotel industry in the beautiful island of
Jamaica. Her specialty in the Hospitality industry was Special Event Management and training. Her
love and passion for the industry had led her to pursue her Associate's degree at the Montego Bay
Community College where she majored in Hospitality and Tourism and Entertainment Management
with a concentration in Food and Beverage. Dr. Rowe moved to the United States in 2009 to
pursue her baccalaureate degree in Hospitality Management at Monroe College, where she
graduated with highest Honor’s in 2010. In 2012, she graduated with her Master of Science degree
in Business Management from Lehman College where she concentrated in International Business. 
Dr. Rowe achieved her Ph. D. in 2018.

Dr. Rowe has been an online adjunct professor at Monroe College in the Bronx, NY for six
years. During her years of teaching, she was given the opportunity to advise students in the
Hospitality major. This experience had led Dr. Rowe to engage with students and to provide
mutual support that encourages students’ success. Professor Rowe had the opportunity to assist
with the development of the Spring 2015 Semester Online Hospitality Senior Seminar Research
Class at Monroe College. Dr. Rowe tries to implement different collaborating activities that
encourage students’ motivation and achievement.

Professor Rowe has completed her Ph. D. in Management with a concentration in Leadership and
Organizational Change at Walden University. Her research interest was sustainable practices and its
effect on small hotel optimization in Jamaica.
