Jim Conlin

Instructor

Mr. Conlin (Jim) started his professional career in Chicago, IL working full time with Power Construction. Working on a 50 story high-rise, Jim oversaw various trades and subcontractors throughout the entire project as a Project Engineer. Upon completion, he began working in the health care sector on a 6-story bed tower new build, while simultaneously coordinating smaller interior renovation projects of the existing hospital. Prior to completion, Jim transitioned his career to Mortenson Construction based out of Minneapolis, MN where he spent the next 8 years traveling and constructing Wind Farms, most recently as a Project Manager. After completing 12 wind projects over five States and one Canadian Province, Jim returned to Marquette to join the faculty in the Construction Management program.

Jim, his wife Kelly, and two dogs reside in Marquette. They are small business owners, and in his free time, Jim invests in Real Estate with business ties throughout Wisconsin, and Marquette, MI. Jim is currently seeking his Masters of Business Administration at NMU and looking forward to the progress and advancement of the Construction Management program.
