Alpha Psi Omega presents:


A Soap Opera Murder Mystery by Don Zolidis

The long-running soap opera, The Bold and the Young, is in its last days. The producer gives the squabbling cast an ultimatum: Complete one episode overnight or the show dies. But when the director ends up murdered, and other cast members start dropping like flies, it seems like his threat might actually come true.

Tickets are $15 for general public, $10 for students, and $5 for NMU students.

Cast Bios

Hunter Schram (Jake Strong / Morris Nyborg) is a freshman at NMU and has been in many plays, his most recent being Charlotte's Web, in which he played Wilbur. Hunter would like to say that this is probably the most social and hard working team he has been a part of, and that they all work really well with each other. He is so excited to perform in this production!

Nathan Morgan (Sebastian Strong / Bill Wiley) is a senior at NMU who will graduate in December of this year. After graduation, he plans to return to Northern to pursue a teaching license. Notable roles include Angelo in A Comedy of Errors (FRT), Fakir in The Secret Garden (FRT), Ancestor in The Addams Family (FRT), Narrator 2 in The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon, and most recently Riff Raff in The Rocky Horror Show. Be sure to catch him in The Complete Works of Shakespeare (abridged) as a part of the 2018 Fringe Festival. He would like to thank everyone who has been a part of his theatre career in Marquette, and the FRT for being a strong contributor to his artistic development over the years. 

Jacob Laitinen (Valencio DiCarpathio / John Burke) is a freshman Theater major with a double minor in Music and Media Production. He is enrolled in school for the first time in 7 years, and is ecstatic to be back in the academic grind. His previous roles at NMU include Thenardier (Les Miserables) and The Snail with the Mail (A Year with Frog and Toad). He has also played The Beast (Beauty and the Beast), Herr Shultz (Cabaret), Sebastian (The Little Mermaid), Riff Raff (Rocky Horror), and Ali Hakim (Oklahoma). Jacob wanted to say thank you to everyone for coming out to see this hilarious romp into the absurd!

Sabrina Nelson (Mona Jeffries / Cybil Dane) is a second year student at Northern Michigan University. This is her first production with APO, but you may have seen her previously in Scrooge! and Haunted Theatre in the FRT. Some of her favorite roles include Gingy (Shrek the Musical), Gertrude McFuzz (Seussical the Musical), and Audrey (Little Shop of Horrors). She is a Theatre Performance major and a Vocal Music minor, and hopes to continue to be in many future productions at Northern. She is thrilled to be part of such an amazing and talented production, and hopes the show keeps you on the edge of your seats and roaring with laughter!

A.J. Stephens (Eileen Silverstedt / Amy White) Is a junior double Theatre/Business major with minors in Communications and Music. She is also co-director of Northern Lights A Cappella, Membership Recruitment Chair of Phi Sigma Sigma, and a lead singer of her band “Tease." A.J. enjoys long walks to the fridge, corgis, and making people laugh. You can see her in the ensemble of Tarzan this spring. Some of A.J.’s memorable roles include Hodel (Fiddler On The Roof), Martha (The Secret Garden), Princess, Girl with No Hands, Dwarf 1, and Magic Mirror (The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon), and The Sour Kangaroo (Seussical). A.J. would to thank her parents for their support through her theatrical career and her sister Audree for always being her rock!

Erin Culp (Jessica Silverstedt / Danielle Farris) is a freshman at Northern Michigan University this year and has participated in many shows in the past, Rocky Horror Picture Show being the most recent. She has enjoyed meeting and working with everyone in the cast, and hopes you enjoy the show!

Kyle Flickinger (Dr. William Bradley / Tyler Tripodo) is a junior at Northern Michigan University pursuing a degree in Biochemistry.  He is also a National-Qualifying member of NMU’s Men’s Diving team. Kyle has been involved in theatre for many years, being involved in productions such as Oliver! (The Artful Dodger), Camelot (Mordred) at the Sault Theatre Project, Chicago (Stage Crew) at Sault Area High School, and Grease (Stage Crew). Kyle is very excited to be getting involved with theatre at NMU’s Forest Roberts Theatre, and in addition to performing in The Bold, the Young, and the Murdered, Kyle will also appear in the FRT's performance of Tarzan  in the spring.

Brooke Baneck (Sequoiya / Lily Baumgartner) is a freshman here at Northern majoring in Microbiology, and she is super excited to be a part of this play. This is Brooke's first production at NMU and she can't wait to see what the future holds for her at the FRT. She is honored to have to opportunity to perform with this wonderful cast, and hopes to see you at the show!

Kendall Burmeister (Oli) is a freshman at Northern majoring in Environmental Studies and Sustainability. The Bold, the Young, and the Murdered is her first production here at Northern, and she is extremely thankful to be a part of this amazing cast and so grateful for this wonderful opportunity. This show has been an amazing experience!

Audree Stephens (Kaitlin) is a sophomore here at NMU. She is a Theatre Major with a minor in Dance, and this is her second APO production. She was very happy to play the role of the Plant in last years APO production of The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon, and was also in The Addams Family last year as the Bride Ancestor at the Forest Roberts Theatre. Audree is looking forward to the 2018 Fringe Fest, where she will portray the character of Ismene in Antigone, and is also very pumped for Tarzan, where she will play the role of Kala. She hopes you enjoy this comedy!

Lindsey Miller (Keri) is from a small town in Iowa and this is her first year at Northern. She is a double Theatre and Psychology major. Lindsey was very involved with theatre and speech in high school, and her favorite show she’s done is The Addams Family, in which she played Wednesday. She is thrilled to be here and stoked for everyone to see this show!

Nick Salin (Miles) has been in shows at Northern for a year now. Some of the more notable roles you might recognize him from are Vito Deleoni in Building Madness and The Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come in Scrooge! He is very excited for everyone to come out and see this hilarious show!

Taylor Koski (Brooke) is a freshman and is majoring in Elementary Education. She has grown up in the Marquette area and has done theatre since she was 8. Some of her favorite roles include Sponge (James and the Giant Peach Jr.), Fairy Godmother (Cinderella) and Sister Mary Lazarus (Sister Act). Taylor has also choreographed and directed for Superior Arts Youth Theater, and loves to work with the local youth. In 2017, she won the Marquette City Youth Art Award. She would like to thank all of her role models at SAY theater, her friends, and her parents, for always allowing her to learn and grow.

Rhiannon Hintz (Stagehand) is a sophomore at Northern Michigan University. This will be her 17th production, having performed in previous shows such as The Phantom of the Opera, Heathers: The Musical, and The Outsiders. This will be her first APO show, first Black Box show, and first show at NMU.

Amber Urban (Director) is a senior at NMU majoring in Theatre and Sociology. She is honored to have had the opportunity to direct The Bold, the Young, and the Murdered and is super excited to direct The Valentine Fairy in the upcoming Fringe Festival for her senior capstone. Amber would like to thank everyone who helped make this show possible. You guys are amazing!

Maddie Rayner (Stage Manager) is a junior Speech, Language, & Hearing Sciences major and Theatre minor, and she is currently the Secretary of Alpha Psi Omega. This is her first time stage managing a production at NMU, although she had the opportunity to stage manage a production of The Addams Family for the Marshall Civic Players over the summer. Maddie would like to thank the cast and production team for all of their time, effort, and hard work to make this production great. Maddie would also like to thank her family, friends, and Big—Abby Persoon—for their love and support.

Nathaniel Langlie (Scenic Designer) is a sophomore Theatre and Outdoor Rec double major with a minor in Dance. He has appeared previously at Northern in Noises Off, The Addams Family, Scrooge!, and the Worth a Second Glance Cabaret. As well as being the scenic designer for APO's production of The Bold, the Young, and the Murdered, Nathaniel will also appear later this season in Antigone, the NMU Dance Concert, and Tarzan.

Lily Howder (Lighting Designer) is a senior Theatre major at Northern, and she is so excited to be light designing this show. Lily was the previous Vice President for APO and for the past two years she has held the position of President. She would like to thank everyone in the crew for being supportive, everyone in the cast for being understanding, and everyone in the fraternity for being family. Lily is so proud of all the hard work these students have put into this and hopes you all enjoy it. 

Regan McKay (Costume Designer) is a junior Theatre/English major and Dance minor, and the current Vice President of Alpha Psi Omega. She also works as a seamstress in the FRT Costume Shop and the librarian of the Rapport Theatre Library. Regan has worked as costume mistress on Into the Woods and The Addams Family and dramaturg on Where A Certain Future at the FRT. This season, she has costume designed both The Bold, The Young, and the Murdered and Scrooge!, and she will be working as dramaturg on Antigone in the 2018 Fringe Festival. She would like to thank her parents, her sister Maddie, her boyfriend Paul, and her many APO friends for their incredible encouragement and support.

Taylor Wilcox (Assistant Stage Manager) is a freshman at NMU this year, double majoring in Neuroscience with a Pre-Med intent and Technical Theatre. This is her first show with APO, and she will be working later this season as the Stage Manager for both The Valentine Fairy, which is a part of the 2018 Fringe Festival, and the APO Variety Show.

Lilith Kontos (Sound Designer) is a junior at NMU majoring in English and minoring in Theatre. She is the current Treasurer of Alpha Psi Omega, and has previously worked as the lighting designer for their production of The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon. Acting credits include Annelle in Steel Magnolias (Lake Superior Theatre), Jan in Grease (Lake Superior Theatre), Grandma Addams in The Addams Family (FRT), Deborah Abramson in Where a Certain Future (FRT), and Lucinda in Into the Woods (FRT).
