Cast Bios

Audree Stephens (Plant) is a first year at Northern Michigan University majoring in theatre and minoring in dance. Her passion is musical theatre; she hopes to pursue a career in the field after college. After receiving an undergraduate degree at NMU, she plans to attend a college near New York to receive a graduate degree in musical theatre. Some of her favorite roles she played throughout high school were Jo March (Little Women), Fiona (Shrek: The Musical), Mayzie (Seussical), Cinderella (Into the Woods), and Ismene (Antigone). She hopes you enjoy the show!

Katherine Marsh (Crab Person 2/Offstage Voices) is a senior at Northern, majoring in theatre with a double minor in music and communication studies. Her recent involvement in productions includes The Secret Garden (Assistant Stage Manager), Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up? (Secretary/Sister Monica), Haunted Theatre (Assistant Stage Manager), and Scrooge! (Assistant Stage Manager). She is currently preparing for her senior capstone, which takes place next semester, Building Madness. She would like to thank her family and friends for their unending support and guidance. Much love!

Carly Plasman (Witch 1&2) is a junior and a first year transfer to Northern, studying outdoor recreation leadership and management. This is her first show at NMU but her favorite shows she participated in elsewhere were Fools (Sophia), Play On! (Polly), and The Importance of Being Earnest (Lady Bracknell). She would like to thank all her friends and family, and send a special thank you to her roommate for being supportive and awesome in transitioning to Northern and its theatre department. Enjoy the show, laugh a bunch, and rock on!

Abby Persoon (Dirt Merchant/Hansel/Host/Doctor) is a junior zoology major and theatre minor from Mahtomedi, Minnesota. Performance credits include Little Shop of Horrors (Audrey II Puppeteer) and Heroes and Villains (Elsa/Rapunzel/Ensemble) at the Forest Roberts Theatre. Performances outside of the Forest Roberts Theatre include The Little Mermaid (Maid/Sea Creature/Dance Captain) at Rosentown Playhouse and Urinetown (Ensemble), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Judah’s Wife/Egyptian), and Children of Eden (Storyteller/Deer) at Ashland Productions. Abby would like to thank her family, friends, and mini unit for their unending love and support.

Nick Salin (Rumplestiltskin/Talking Fish/King/God/Dwarf 2) is a transfer student from Bay de Noc Community College. He is majoring in mathematics and minoring in theatre. This will be his first production at Northern Michigan University, but he has acted in high school as well as in the Dickinson County Community Theatre. His more notable roles have been in Annie Get Your Gun (Charlie) and Aladdin (Aladdin). He is excited to kick off his Northern Michigan University acting career with this fun show, and thanks everyone for coming out!

Cecilia Smith (Girl/Mother/Crab Person 1/Snow White) is a junior at Northern Michigan University, majoring in speech, language and hearing sciences. She loves all things theatre related, and is a member of the theatre fraternity, Alpha Psi Omega, where she is one of the campus outreach and volunteering chairs. Previously, she has performed in The Fringe Festival, The Ten Minute Play Festival, Haunted Theatre, and worked on run crew for Tribes. She’d like to thank her friends and family for their support. Enjoy the show!

Allison Luciano (Enchantress/Cinderella/Mac/Fishergirl/Woodcutter) is thrilled to participate in her second show for Alpha Psi Omega! You may have seen her last as Florinda in Into the Woods and Lady Olivia in Twelfth Night. Previous production credits include Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors and Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz. Although she is a secondary education major, she loves that she can still pursue her love of acting. She wants to thank her friends and family for their never-ending support. Allison cannot wait to see what her future with NMU Theatre has in store for her!

Nathan Morgan (Narrator 2) is a senior biology major at NMU with aspirations of one day attending medical school. Nathan has a long list of performance credits at NMU, including Angelo in A Comedy of Errors, several roles in The Colored Museum, and Fakir in The Secret Garden. Nathan has also performed in Lake Superior Theatre’s Summer Cabaret. He is currently stage managing and assistant directing the Superior Arts Youth Theatre’s production of Disney’s The Lion King Jr.

Regan McKay (Rapunzel/Gretel/Grandma) is a sophomore at NMU with majors in theatre and English and a minor in dance. Forest Roberts Theatre performance credits include Twelfth Night (Viola), and, in December of 2016, Scrooge! (Toy Shop Assistant/Ensemble). She’d like to thank her professors, parents, boyfriend, and friends for all their constant encouragement and support.

Liz Trueblood (Narrator 1) is a senior at Northern Michigan University, majoring in English with minors in theatre and writing. Production credits include Tribes (Stage Manager), Heroes and Villains (Director), and Where a Certain Future (Stage Manager) at the Forest Roberts Theatre. Performance credits include A Kind of Alaska (Pauline), Les Miserables (Ensemble), A Paper Tiger in the Rain (Kelly), Little Shop of Horrors (Chiffon), and The California Suite (Gert) at the Forest Roberts Theatre. Liz would like to thank her friends and family for their unending love and support—she loves you!

Brian Czyzyk (Actor/Father/Cobbler Elf/Wicked Stepsister 1&2/Wicked Stepmother/The Birds/”Cinderella”/Mac/Herald/Prince Charming) is a senior English major from Traverse City, Michigan, who is sad but excited for his final FRT season. Previous roles include Jimmy (Fit for Feet) and Man (Scheherazade) from the 2014 Ten Minute Play Festival, as well as Sir Andrew (Twelfth Night), a puppet in Haunted Theatre, and Alfred Rosenthal in Where a Certain Future. Following graduation, Brian will attend graduate school, where he will study writing with an emphasis on poetry. He would like to thank his family and friends for their support throughout the years. You mean the world to him!

AJ Stephens (Girl with No Hands/Princess/Dwarf 1/Devil’s Grandma/Little Red) is a sophomore at NMU double majoring in theatre and business and minoring in communications. She’d eventually like to travel the world and “flip” theatres, and create an HGTV show. AJ is from Big Rapids, MI; she’s performed at festivals such as the International Thespian Festival in high school, and she won many awards and scholarships. She also performed at the Michigan Youth Arts Festival. Some of AJ’s favorite roles include Jan (Grease, 2012), The Queen of Hearts (Alice in Wonderland, 2013), Gertrude (Seussical, 2014), Hodel (Fiddler on the Roof, 2015), and Martha (The Secret Garden, 2016).
