Jacob Barbot HeadshotJacob Barbot (Colonel Thomas McKean) is a senior theatre student at Northern Michigan University. In the past he has appeared in Tecumseh! (Tecumseh! Outdoor Drama), Complete Female Stage Beauty, Of Mice and Men, Peter Pan (Forest Roberts Theatre), The Love List (Lake Superior Theatre), The Case of the Crown Diamond, and The Near East (Panowski Black Box). Jacob would like to thank his parents and friends for their love and support.


Coop Bicknell HeadshotCoop Bicknell (Joseph Hewes) is a Freshman at Northern Michigan University. Although he’s not a theater major, Coop enjoys being involved with theatrical productions, having been in a few during High School. When he’s not acting or studying, Coop spends his time playing video games, watching television, or surfing the net. Coop is extremely proud to be part of the Forest Roberts Theatre production of 1776 and many other productions to come.


Aaron Bower HeadshotAaron Bower (Josiah Bartlett) is a Freshman and a zoology major. He has appeared in Ah! Wilderness, Pullman Car Hiawatha, Seussical, and Freak in high school. He is very excited to be taking part in his first college theater production.




Susan Boyle headshotSusan Boyle (John Hancock) is a second year post-baccalaureate theatre student. Her most recent performances include Rona in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Forest Roberts Theatre, 2012) and Lily in The Secret Garden (Lake Superior Theatre, 2011).




Ellisa Clumpner headshotEllisa Clumpner (Martha Jefferson) has a B.A. in international studies with a minor in theatre from Northern Michigan University, and is currently teaching English as a Second Language at NMU. She has appeared in Hamlet (Black Box Theatre), Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, A Flea in Her Ear, The Vagina Monologues, Cinderella, The Full Monty, and Hello Dolly! (Forest Roberts Theatre), Bye Bye Birdie (Vista Theatre), and Anything Goes! (Lakes Superior Theatre).


Jake Delong headshotJake Delong (George Read)  is a sophomore at Northern Michigan University, majoring in theater. Some of his prior roles include: Warnock Waldgrave in The Nerd, Harnell Chesterton in You Have the Right to Remain Dead, Murray in The Odd Couple, and Von Schreiber in The Sound of Music. Here at NMU, he has appeared in Boise, Idaho as Olston, and in Spaceships and Things That Look Like Them as David. This summer he appeared in Hairspray.



Craig Grabarczyk headshotCraig Grabarczyk (Stephen Hopkins) has a B.S. in theater from NMU. He has appeared in a number shows at NMU and in local community theater. Such shows include A Thousand Clowns (Lake Superior Theatre), The Marriage Proposal (Panowski Black Box Theatre), A Flea in Her Ear (Forest Roberts Theatre), Dark Lady of the Sonnets (Panowski Black Box Theatre), Sweeney Todd (Vista Theatre), Bye Bye Birdie (Vista Theatre) and The Tempest (Forest Roberts Theatre).


Alycia Heckathorn headshotAlycia Heckathorn (Charles Thomson) is a junior Theater major at Northern. She was last seen on the Forest Roberts stage in How I Became a Pirate and A Year with Frog and Toad. She was also seen in the winter Lab Shows as Naomi in Naomi in the Living Room. Various community theater shows include Godspell, Scrooge: the Musical, and The Scarlet Pimpernel, and others at Theatre North and the Historic Ironwood Theatre.



Pierce Huxtable headshotPierce Huxtable (John Adams, Costume Design) a theater and electronic journalism double major, has appeared in Rent, The Mousetrap (Sgt. Trotter), A Flea in Her Ear (Camille), Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Peter Pan (John), and Sherlock Holmes… (Sherlock Holmes) at the Forest Roberts Theatre. Roles in the past include Atticus Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird, Joe Benjamin in God’s Favorite, Philip Lombard in And Then There Were None, and Mr. Antrobus in By the Skin of Our Teeth.



Andrea Knoll headshotAndrea Knoll (John Witherspoon) is a recent graduate of NMU with a Masters of Individualized Studies. She completed her BA in Theater at SVSU. Her favorite roles in past shows were Jolene (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels), Ann Putnam (Crucible), and Vivian (W;t). She is currently working as the Costume Shop Supervisor for the FRT and hopes to work professionally in either Chicago, Virginia or Utah after this season at NMU.



Taylor Kulju headshotTaylor Kulju (Lyman Hall) is a third year theatre major at NMU. Her recent roles consist of "Rizzo" in Grease at the Vista Theatre. Aisha in The Near East at the James A. Panowski Black Box Theatre and Margaret in Compleat Female Stage Beauty at the Forest Roberts Theatre. She is thrilled to be back and ready for a great season.




Tom Lee headshotTom Lee (Lewis Morris) has been performing for 16 years. He has studied at the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts, in acting for film and television. This will be his first show at NMU and is proud to be a part of this production of 1776.




Adan Lowe headshotAdam Lowe (Benjamin Franklin) is a senior at NMU. His most recent highlight is Samuel in a professional production of The Confession. His other recent credits include William Barfee (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee) and Toad (A Year with Frog and Toad) at Northern Michigan University. He also was Capulet (Romeo and Juliet) and Froggy (The Foreigner.) He has conducted multiple shows including; Little Women (ECCT), and was assistant music director on The Threepenny Opera.



Martha Lundin headshotMartha Lundin (Roger Sherman) Martha is a third-year English Writing major with a minor in art. This is her first show with the FRT. Her most beloved role came in high school as Yente the matchmaker in Fiddler on the Roof.




Alexandra Marks headshotAlexandra Marks (Abigail Adams) is a theater major with a minor in music. She has appeared in Macbeth, Bye Bye, Birdie, The Wiz, Thoroughly Modern Millie, The Matchmaker, Dark of the Moon, and Cinderella and designed the set for Cinderella in high school.




Meghan Marquardt headshotMeghan Marquardt (John Dickinson) is a junior pursuing a theater and English writing double major. She has appeared on the Forest Roberts Theatre stage as Antoinette in A Flea in Her Ear and Logainne Schwartzandgrubenierre in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Her black box experience has included playing Laertes in Hamlet, and Mrs. Hudson in Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Crown Diamond. She would like to thank her friends and family for their support.

She has also appeared in Honk! Jr. (Parish Theatre), The Mouse that Roared (Parish Theatre), The Wizard of Oz (Kalamazoo Civic Theatre), Little Women (Kalamazoo Civic Theatre), The Baker’s Wife (Parish Theatre), and Romeo and Juliet (Celery Flats Amphitheatre).

He has appeared in Grease (Vista Theatre), Oklahoma (Negaunee High School), Guys and Dolls (Negaunee High School), Sweeney Todd (Vista Theatre), Bye Bye Birdie (Vista Theatre), Footloose (Vista Theatre),  High School Musical (Vista Theatre), The Sound of Music (Pagosa Springs Music Boosters), and Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat (Pagosa Springs Music Boosters).


James Porras II headshotJames Porras II (Edward Rutledge) is a sophomore theater major here at NMU. James’ favorite roles include Audrey II in Little Shop of Horrors, Thomas Betterton in Compleat Female Stage Beauty, and The Baker in Into the Woods. This is his third Main Stage show at the FRT. He would like to thank everyone involved with the show for the amazing experience they’ve shared together, and the department for giving him this opportunity.



William Raveau headshotWilliam Raveau (Robert Livingston) is a Theater Major at NMU. He is very excited to be making his Forest Roberts Theater debut in 1776. He has been in ten shows including A Little Night Music (Little Traverse Civic Theater), Titanic (Bay View Music Festival), The Phantom of the Opera (Boyne City Community Theater), and West Side Story (Boyne City High School). He would like to thank the fantastic cast, crew, production team, and everyone else helping to put on this wonderful show!


Dorsey Sprouls headshotDorsey Sprouls (Samuel Chase) is a freshman at NMU this year, planning to major in Graphic Communications with a minor in Theater. An active theater geek for three years, acting has become more or less a passion for him. This will be the ninth play he has acted in. He has been involved in productions of Blood Brothers, The Wizard of Oz, and Bye Bye Birdie. His hometown is Cottage Grove, Minnesota, a small suburb of St. Paul.



James Vincent headshotJames Vincent (Richard Henry Lee) is a senior at NMU, and will graduate with a degree in theater performance.  Some stage credits include Grease (Danny) A Flea in Her Ear (Romaine Tournel) Footloose (Willard Hewitt) A Chorus Line (Mike Costa) A Year with Frog and Toad (Father Frog, Squirrel, and Mole.) This summer he played Thin Warrior and understudy to Blue Jacket in the outdoor drama, Tecumseh! Upon graduation he intends to join the Navy to pursue aviation.

He has portrayed a handful of roles consisting of a pirate in Peter Pan to his upcoming role in 1776 as Andrew McNair the congressional custodian. He is excited for this upcoming season and hopes to show people what he is made of!  



Jackie Wiles headshotJackie Wiles (Caesar Rodney) is a senior theatre major with a minor in digital cinema. Her most recent roles include Tammy (Hairspray) with Grape Expectations Theatre Company, Elizabeth (Encounter) with the MQTcinemaCoalition and the Assassin (The Near East) with the Forest Roberts Theatre. Jackie would like to thank all of her friends, family, her theater family and Tyler for their support and love during her college career!


Staff Bios:

Kimberly Hegmegee (Lighting Design) is the technical director for the Forest Roberts Theatre. In addition to her TD responsibilities, Hegmegee creates lighting designs for many of the productions. Some recent favorites include RENT, Cinderella, The Full Monty, and Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Hegmegee also teaches technical and stage management classes. Her latest technical obsession is performance flight.


Victor Holliday headshotVictor G. Holliday (Set Design) has been the designer for The Forest Roberts Theatre since 1982, and also served as technical director from 1982-2000. He earned his B.A. in psychology from St. Johns University (MN), and his M.F.A. in scenic design from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Before coming to NMU, he was designer and technical director at Trenton State College (now The College of New Jersey). Vic has also designed for summer and community theatres and dance companies in Hawaii, Michigan, Wisconsin, New Jersey, and North Carolina. Outside of the theater, his major interests are history (particularly military and naval history) and ship modeling (pre-dreadnought steel navy), and he is an active ailurophile.

Andy Lawrence headshotAndy Lawrence (Assistant Stage Manager) is a freshman Theater Management major at NMU. Andy has done nine shows at his high school while being on stage and backstage for all of them. He was Head Student Producer for six shows, and Stage Manager for one. He was introduced into community theater with the show The Secret Garden. He was vice president and later became president of his Thespian Troupe.



Jaina Olgren headshotJalina Olgren (Sound Designer) is a senior theatre major and has been involved in many productions at the Forest Roberts Theatre including: Compleat Female Stage Beauty- Sound Design, Peter Pan- Stage Manager, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels- Assistant Stage Manager, Of Mice
and Men- Sound Design, A Flea in Her Ear- Lighting Design, Mousetrap- Sound Design, Rent-Assistant Lighting Design, Actletes- Stage Manager.  She has also been a Forest Roberts Theatre Carpenter and General Technician from 2008-Present.


Kristy Priest headshotKristy Priest (Production Stage Manager) is a Senior at NMU majoring in Theatre and Media Production. Her favorite productions she has been involved in are: Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (Asst. Stage Manager), Peter Pan (Asst. Stage Manager), A Year With Frog and Toad (Lighting Designer), The Near East (Production Stage Manager), The … Spelling Bee (Spot Light Operator) at the Forest Roberts Theatre. She was also the Production Stage Manager at Lake Superior Theatre for the Summer 2012 Season.


Abby Schneck (Assistant Stage Manager) is a sophomore at Northern majoring in Clinical Laboratory Science: Medical Laboratories. She appeared in The 25th Annual Putnum County Spelling Bee (Marcy Park) last year here at the Forest Roberts Theatre. In High School she appeared in Godspell, The Wizard of Oz, and stage managed/directed The Philadelphia Story. She would like to thank the rest of the production team, and her friends and family for their support and unconditional love

Paul Truckey (Director) has been a member of the NMU Theatre faculty since 2003. While at NMU he has staged numerous productions including, A Flea in Her Ear, The Mousetrap, Actletes, The Foreigner, The Full Monty, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Tell-Tale – 2006 Panowski Playwrighting Award winner (PPA), Closer Than Ever, Burning Mona Lisa in the Reptile House – 2004 (PPA), and Our Town. Among his acting credits are leading roles in Les Miserables (Broadway and National Touring Companies), The Fantastick’s, The Problem, Utah! (Original Company), Sunday in the Park with George, Romeo and Juliet, Nine, Three Sisters, The Mikado, and She Stoops to Conquer.
