I have worked in Higher Ed in a variety of ways over the years. In Student Support Services, I focus on advising & coordinating support efforts, which is wonderful! I am an active learner in all that I do and I love helping students explore higher education as a path to personal growth and success.

My husband and I live in an old Finnish farmhouse out in the hayfields of Trenary, and we’ve been renovating our place for about 25 years. Some animals live with us: eight chickens, two cats, and a happy little Goldendoodle named Sunny. My two grown kids and their friends wander in and out.

As a first-gen graduate, I know how tough it is to navigate college advising. This is why I am so grateful for the chance to make sure our 216 students always have someone in their corner. This TRIO program does amazing things for students and I am so excited to be a part of this incredible team of advisors who are dedicated to making a change! ...

jlethere@nmu.eduMajor/Minor:
I'm an Environmental Science major with a natural resources concentration, as well as a Mathematics minor. I also recently decided to pursue a GIS certificate.
Campus Extracurriculars:
I've been involved with the Conservation Crew and the Hoop House on and off since my freshman year, mostly depending on how busy I am each semester with classes.
Outside of NMU:
Hiking is one of my favorite things to do in the fall and winter in Marquette. I also love swimming in Lake Superior in August and September, and hanging out with my friends.
Favorite TV show/movie:
New Girl and Scooby Doo: Mystery Inc. are the two shows I've watched over and over again. My favorite movie is either the Secret Life of Walter Mitty or Pride and Prejudice (2005).
In my spare time::
I always enjoy movie nights with my roommate, reading pretty much any genre of books, and listening to music.
