MARQUETTE, Mich. – The Northern Michigan University volleyball team will have an open tryout for the remaining roster positions for the 2013 season. The tryout will be held in Vandament Arena on Jan. 19, 2013 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Registration will be held from 11-11:45 a.m. The tryout will follow from noon-2 p.m. and will consist of the following: overall skill and technique assessment, strength and conditioning assessment and understanding of game play.

Individuals interested in the tryout must meet the criteria of a high school senior who is on track to graduate in May or June and exhausted high school eligibility, a junior college transfer or a four-year transfer who has a release from their current university.

All participants will need to submit a copy of their high school transcript, ACT or SAT test scores, college transcript, an NCAA Clearinghouse number, a current physical taken within the past six months and completion of a sickle cell waiver form from the link below before Jan. 12. All forms may be faxed or emailed.

It is important that participants bring to the all necessary volleyball equipment to compete (shoes, knee pads, ankle braces, athletic apparel, etc.).
